Muller is the most cooperative subject I have worked with and accepted my rather absurd proposition to take portraits of him submerged in cold autumn water. Granted, Austin never gets too cold but most sane people would not subject themselves to such treatment by a photographer.

Fort Hood Memorial Ceremony


Spc. Brian Hill, who was wounded in Iraq, pays tribute to victims of the Fort Hood shooting at the III Corps Headquarters on Tuesday. “It was a shock because it came from one of our own,” Hill said. “When you are at home you don’t expect things like this to happen.”


President Barack Obama speaks to soldiers, families and civilians during the memorial ceremony for the victims of Thursday’s shooting at Fort Hood. “We are a nation that endures because of the courage of those who defend it” said Obama.
